HIC welcomes new Cardiologists

The Heart Institute of the Caribbean continues to pride itself on our expertise, driven by the best possible team of physicians practicing high quality medicine based on scientific evidence. In 2012, we are intent on maintaining and extending this reputation. To this end, we have invested heavily in the ongoing training and development of our staff and bolstered those efforts with the recruitment of several internationally trained and certified physicians.  Their addition to the HIC team will mean improved service to our physicians and their patients.

It is therefore, with great pleasure that we welcome Dr. Hisham Ben Lamin and Dr Felix Nunura to the HIC family.

Dr Hisham Ben LaminDr Ben Lamin is a Clinical Cardiologist with extensive training and years of experience. He has advanced training in Echocardiography from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Dr Ben Lamin has particular interest in Hypertension and Heart Disease in Women and has played a pivotal role in the international collaborations of the European Society of Cardiology. We are excited to have him join us and he looks forward to seeing patients in our Ocho Rios facility.

Dr Felix NunuraDr Felix Nunura is a Professor of Cardiology who was recruited from his post at the Children’s Heart Institute in Reston, Virginia, USA. At the Children’s Heart Institute, Prof Nunura was responsible for Echocardiography an Autonomic Function Services. He has practiced Cardiology in leading centres of excellence and will bring a breadth of expertise in Cardiographics and non-invasive modalities to our Mandeville Offices.

We are exceedingly confident that their deployment to our offices in Mandeville and Ocho Rios will bring tremendous value to these towns and their neighbouring communities. The Heart Institute of the Caribbean continues to lead the charge in delivering world-class cardiovascular care to the people of the Caribbean.
