Our
Facilities

Centrally located in
the heart of Kingston at 23 Balmoral Avenue, Kingston 10, the
Heart Institute of the Caribbean is Jamaica's premier specialty
health center.
We also have branches in Mandeville, Jamaica and
George Town, Cayman Islands.
|

Patients will enjoy the warm, personal atmosphere of the Heart Institute
of the Caribbean from the moment they enter the facility and throughout their entire visit.
When patients walk into
the lobby, a customer service representative will greet
them and review admission information, answer questions
and ensure that patients receive proper care during
their visit, as well as the necessary information upon
discharge. |
|
On the first floor is the
central nursing station. This area provides the
nursing team with close access should patients need
assistance. On each visit to the Heart Institute
of the Caribbean, patients will have their vitals taken
by the attending nurse, before seeing a doctor .
Also located in this area
is our laboratory which provides full-service testing.
Having laboratory services on-site provides patients
quicker service and turn-around for results physicians
need to properly care for their patient. |
|
Each patient examination room is private.
Patients can consult with the physician and have their
physical examination and electrocardiogram done from the
privacy and convenience of their patient room. |
|

The Heart Institute of the
Caribbean provides a full array of diagnostic testing
for cardiac, vascular and thoracic disease. Here,
nuclear imaging is performed to help the cardiologist
view the heart muscle and surrounding organs such as the
lungs. This diagnostic tool can help with the
assessment of the heart and lung functions.
|
|
The Heart Institute of the Caribbean catheterization lab
is set up to be interchangeable for vascular,
electrophysiology and general cardiology services.
Here patients may have procedures done to check the
electrical system of the heart, check for any blockages,
or have a pacemaker implanted. By providing
seamless transistion from diagnosis to treatment,
patients avoid being moved from lab to lab and quicken
their recovery and lessen their hospital stay. |
|
Here in the Stress Test
Laboratory various types of stress tests are performed.
These tests are used to determine the amount of stress
that your heart can manage before developing either an
abnormal rhythm or evidence of inadequate blood flow to
the heart muscle.
|
|

Here in the Echo
Laboratory, an echocardiogram is performed. This
non-invasive test uses sound waves, which can illustrate
how well your heart muscle and valves are working.
This test can also measure the size of your heart
muscle. |
